LAKEWOOD, NJ - Heading into the tenth season of
BlueClaws baseball, the front office announced
Tuesday that all ticket prices for 2010 will remain as
they were in 2009.This includes every seat in the ballpark, from reserve seating to picnics, party decks, and luxury suites, and also includes all packages, ticket or group.
"Affordable, wholesome, family entertainment is what we have strived for here every day since we started in 2001," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown.
According to a Minor League Baseball survey done last year, the BlueClaws organization was recognized as one of the most affordable minor league companies to visit among the nearly 200 in the country. Maintaining current ticket prices should ensure this continues in 2010.
Whereas from 2006-2008, kids ate free at FirstEnergy Park on Mondays, because of the special economic circumstances in 2009, the BlueClaws partnered with ShopRite and NJ 101.5 to offer children a free hot dog, bag of chips, and soda at every home game. Almost 72,000 area children benefited from the first-of-its-kind program.
"We knew that the past year was going to be very challenging for a lot of area families," said Brown. "So we tried to do our part in making our fun event more affordable."
The BlueClaws in 2009 had a 1% increase in overall ticket sales, as more fans recognized the fun atmosphere and affordable evening that the BlueClaws provide.
"That was very satisfying," Brown said. "And it shows that our work to provide that great night out for the whole family at an affordable price is still important to our great fan base."
Reserve seats will remain at $10, with general admission, junior, senior, or military tickets will hold at $7.
The 2010 season will mark the BlueClaws tenth season of play, and the team will have a new logo and new uniforms for the first time in team history.
The BlueClaws won their second South Atlantic League title in 2009, and led the league in attendance for the ninth straight year. The team also won the league's Club Merit Award and became the fastest in New Jersey and SAL history to reach 4-million fans.
