Ports Release 2009 Community Relations Report

October 9, 2009 - California League (CalL) Stockton Ports

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Ports, 11-time champions of the California League, are proud to release the 2009 Community Relations Report, which details the community programs and initiatives the Stockton Ports executed this season.

The Ports are proud to report that through the Anchor Fund this season, the Ports gave approximately $35,500 and nearly $107,500 of in-kind donations, including nearly 13,350 tickets, to local non-profits, charities and schools in San Joaquin County-more than doubling the total dollars donated and the amount of in-kind donations from 2008.

"I am truly proud of the great strides we have made in our community involvement-from the creation of the Anchor Fund in 2007 to setting new donation records in 2009," said Ports President and General Manager Pat Filippone. "It's been pleasure to serve our fans and to work hand-in-glove with the Stockton and San Joaquin County communities this season. We are proud that our organization, our corporate sponsors and our fans are so generous with their efforts to help improve our community, and to reach out and help our neighbors."

The 2009 Community Relations Report illustrates the depth of the Ports involvement in the Stockton and San Joaquin Valley communities, and highlights the positive influence the Ports have had in the community this season.

"The Ports organization-its front office staff, players and coaches-are committed to serving and supporting the community that supports it, in any way possible," Filippone added. "It is the organization's goal to be a responsible, proactive force in the community. The Ports are proud to be involved in and provide numerous community programs in Stockton and San Joaquin County."

The Ports have several exciting community outreach programs planned for the 2010 season, and look forward to working closely with Stockton and San Joaquin County to support the community that supports the team.

The 2009 Community Relations Report is available at www.stocktonports.com and at the front office suite at Banner Island Ballpark.
