August 29, 2009 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros made a roster move today, as RHP Josh Tomlin has been placed on the disabled list with a left calf strain (retro to 8/28) and RHP Brian Grening has rejoined the team from Class A Lake County.

Grening, who has pitched at four different levels of the Indians system in 2009, made two scoreless appearances for the Aeros in June. He delivered three scoreless innings at Altoona June 6th (game two of a doubleheader), and followed that with a shutout frame June 10th vs. New Hampshire. He also appeared for Class AAA Columbus (one appearance, no runs in 2.1 IP), short season Mahoning Valley (3-0, two saves and a 2.79 ERA in five appearances) and most recently for the Captains was 0-0 with one save and a 1.78 ERA in 16 appearances (one start). Grening was 38th-round pick in the 2008 June Draft, and played his college baseball at Cal Poly. He will wear #6.
