(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that OF Richie Robnett has been activated from the Disabled List. OF Francisco Santana has been transferred from Trenton to Staten Island (SS).
Robnett has been on the Disabled List since August 12th. He was signed by the Yankees and assigned to Trenton on June 12th. He hit .292 with a home run and nine RBI in 38 games. He currently has an 11-game hitting streak. He also has appeared in two games this season with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Triple-A). Earlier this season, he appeared in 38 combined games for the Cubs organization between Tennessee (Double-A) and Iowa (Triple-A). With Tennessee, Robnett appeared in 30 games and batted .184 with two home runs and eight RBI. With Iowa, he only appeared in eight games and batted .143 with one RBI. The 5-foot-10 left-hander was originally drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2004 draft.
Santana is 0 x 7 with two runs scored in five games for the Thunder. He was transferred from Staten Island (SS) to Trenton on August 12th. He batted .235 with one home run and 10 RBI in 35 games for Staten Island. In 2008, he spent the entire season with the Dominican Summer League Yankees, and batted .307 with six home runs and 38 RBI in 52 games. The Higuey, Dominican Republic native was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on 6/15/06.
