Off Night for Three-Point Shooting

Friday's game against New York saw the Monarchs have an off shooting night from beyond the three-point line as they went 0-for-7. It was the first time that Sacramento has not made at least one three-pointer in a game since Aug. 27, 2005, when they went 0-for-6 at Minnesota; the Monarchs topped the Lynx, 61-52, in that game and went on to win the 2005 WNBA Championship.

Women of Inspiration Night Presented by XO Communications

Join special guest US beach volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor for Women of Inspiration Night presented by XO Communications on Sat., Aug. 15, as the Monarchs take on the visiting Los Angeles Sparks. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. PDT at ARCO Arena; Sacramento faces Los Angeles for the fourth and final time as the back end of their third home-and-home match-up this season. This game also is Sacramento's Portu- guese Heritage Game and Monarchs guard Ticha Penicheiro will be available for a postgame meet and greet with fans.

Tonight at San Antonio

Tonight, the Monarchs tip-off against the Silver Stars for the third time this season and the second time at AT&T Center after evening the season series at one game apiece with a 101-93 overtime win at ARCO Arena on July 30. Sacramento's victory broke a three-game win streak for San Antonio in the regular season. The win also marked the third time this season that the Monarchs have scored over 100 points, but the first time that they have won when doing so. Sacramento lost to Phoenix twice earlier this year: 115-104 on June 13 at Phoenix and 107-105 on July 11 in Sacramento.
