Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals drew almost 25,000 fans to Rosenblatt Stadium for their last three games Friday through Sunday, going over 300,000 fans in 2009 for the 22nd consecutive season. The three-game total of 24,864 fans - including a throng of 13,101 fans on Saturday night - has pushed the team's season attendance to 300,643 in 52 home dates. That's better than an eight percent increase over the 2008 season, when a total of 278,032 fans were on hand for the Triple-A club's first 52 home dates.

In those 52 home dates through Sunday, the Royals average attendance was 5,782 fans, which ranked 9th in the 16-team Pacific Coast League. Through 52 dates last season the team's average crowd was 5,347. The Royals wound up ranked 10th in the league in attendance last year.

The seventh-largest crowd in franchise history - 23,532 fans - was on hand for this year's Independence Day Fireworks on July 3rd, presented by the Omaha World-Herald, the City of Omaha and the Omaha Royals.

"We continue to be humbled each and every home stand as our long-time fans continue to support us, while new spectators are coming out and enjoying the best affordable, fun family entertainment in the metro area," said Martie Cordaro, Royals Vice President/General Manager.

Overall ticket sales for Royals games are up over 14 percent compared to last year, while group sales are up more than 16 percent from 2008, when the Royals posted their best group sales total in team history. Also, advertising sales this year have already set a franchise record and are over seven percent from a year ago.

The Royals offer many promotions designed to save fans money. New this season, the first 50 kids at every home game receive General Admission tickets for just $1, courtesy of Centris Federal Credit Union. Monday nights features $1 hot dogs, courtesy of Rotella's Italian Bakery. 2-Buck 2uesdays feature $2 General Admission tickets for all fans, presented by Valpak. On Wednesday nights, the first 100 kids 12-and-under receive a free Subway pizza and all kids after the first 100 get a voucher for a free hot dog and Coke.

The Royals and Centerplate also kept concessions prices frozen at last year's level. The daily ticket price for both Field Box ($10) and Reserved seats ($8) remain steady for a sixth consecutive season in 2009. Also, the team continues to give a $1 discount on Field Box and Reserved seats to seniors 60-and-over, kids 12-and-under and all military personnel with ID. This year, the club extended that $1 discount to General Admission tickets - normally $7 - for seniors, children (after the first 50 kids each game), and the military.

For tickets, call the Royals ticket office at (402) 738-5100, or order and print tickets online at www.oroyals.com and at www.Etix.com.
