-SPIKES FINISH OFF HOMESTAND: The State College Spikes finish off a two-game series against the Batavia Muckdogs tonight at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The game will also finish a seven-game homestand for the Spikes, tying the longest in team history. This will be the last series the two teams are schedule to play against each other in State College in 2009. Batavia still leads the all-time series, 19-15, and has taken 11 of 20 games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

-LAST NIGHT: A stellar pitching effort by Maurice Bankston combined with a fierce offensive attack to send the Spikes on to an 8-0 win over the Muckdogs last night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Bankston threw seven innings in the shutout, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out three. Brandon Holden and Teddy Fallon completed the shutout for State College. Aaron Baker went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three runs batted in, while Ty Summerlin went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

-MAJOR LEAGUER DUMATRAIT TO START FOR SPIKES: Left-hander Phil Dumatrait becomes the second major league player to make a rehab appearance for the Spikes in franchise history tonight when he starts on the hill for State College. Dumatrait makes his second rehab appearance after starting the season on the 60-day Disabled List due to setbacks in his recovery from arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder. Tuesday, Dumatrait went four scoreless innings for the GCL Pirates. In 2008, he went 3-4 with a 5.26 ERA for Pittsburgh.

-MUCKDOGS TO START CORRIGAN: Right-hander Christopher Corrigan will make his ninth appearance and fourth start of the year this evening for Batavia. Corrigan has a 5.25 ERA on the road this year to go with a 0.00 ERA at home.

-TONIGHT AT THE BALLPARK: Fans can enjoy a Summer Blast-Off Sunday, with a spectacular postgame fireworks display, and bring their gloves for the Pre-Game Catch on the Field. Plus, Central PA's top mascots will gather for Mascot Mania at the park, and kids can run the bases after the game on Huntingdon County Night.
