Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League announced today that they have re-signed forward/defenseman Kyle Hood for the upcoming 2009-10 season. Hood joins Jason Visser and player/assistant coach Chris Bartolone as players the Sundogs have under contract for next season.

Hood, 25, completed his first full season as a pro with Arizona in 2008-09, registering eight goals, 19 assists and 144 penalty minutes (PIM) while splitting time as a forward and defenseman. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound dual-role player closed out his rookie campaign with 13 points (4g/9a) in his final 15 contests.

The Osoyoos, British Columbia, native first joined the Sundogs as an amateur for the 2008 playoffs after completing a four-year career at Ohio State University (NCAA). In 16 postseason appearances in 2008, Hood registered four goals, two assists and 32 PIM and was a plus-9.

"In his first full season at the professional level, Kyle proved his worth and talent by playing both offense and defense when called upon to do so," said Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. "He's the ultimate team-first type of player that will sacrifice himself for the good of his teammates. We're looking forward to having him back in the fold for 2009-10."

The Sundogs return for their fourth season at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley this October. Season ticket packages are available and start as low as $350. Ask about the ‘No-Risk Protection Plan'. For more information call (928) 772-5555 or visit www.arizonasundogs.com.
