Tri-City Storm, USHL Announce 2009-2010 Schedule

KEARNEY - The United States Hockey League has announced the full 2009-10 schedule including the 60 game line-up for the Tri-City Storm. The League expands to 14 Member Clubs this season, aligned in two divisions of seven with each team playing a total of 60 games (30 home, 30 road).

The 10th anniversary of Storm hockey will officially begin on October 3rd when the Storm hits the road to face off against the Omaha Lancers. The Storm will host its home opening weekend on October 9th and 10th for a double-header against the defending Clark Cup Champion Indiana Ice.

The pre-season schedule will include a home exhibition game at the Viaero Event Center on Friday, September 18th versus the Omaha Lancers. The Storm will then travel to Sioux City to participate in the USHL Fall Classic pre-season event September 24th through the 26th.

Fans will have a chance to see two new teams this season. The USHL expansion Youngstown Phantoms join the league while USA Hockey's Ann Arbor-based program of 46 select 17 and 18-year-olds will field "Team USA." Both teams will participate in the East Division

The seven-team West Division will be comprised of the Des Moines Buccaneers, Fargo Force, Lincoln Stars, Omaha Lancers, Sioux City Musketeers, Sioux Falls Stampede, and Tri-City Storm.
