Coddington, Ravin Honored as Dragons Players of the Month

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the winners today of the 1410 ESPN Radio Hitter and Pitcher of the Month awards. Fans selected the winners through on-line voting at www.daytondragons.com.

Catcher Kevin Coddington was selected as the Dragons Hitter of the Month while right-handed starting pitcher Josh Ravin was selected as Pitcher of the Month.

Coddington batted a team-leading .343 during June and drove in eight runs. He appeared in 20 of the Dragons 25 games. Coddington added five doubles and four stolen bases while posting an on-base percentage of .416. Coddington is a native of West Linn, Oregon and played college baseball at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Ravin was 2-1 with a team-leading 1.80 earned run average for the month of June. He limited opposing batters to a combined average of .213 in five starts. Ravin is a native of Tarzana, California in the Los Angeles area.

Other nominees for the month of June including Kyle Day and Carlos Mendez for the Hitter of the Month and Scott Gaffney and Lance Janke for the Pitcher of the Month.

The winning players will be honored at a Player of the Month luncheon on Friday, July 3rd at McDonald's on York Commons Boulevard in Vandalia at 12:00 noon. Fans may attend to ask questions to the winning players and receive autographs. The players will be available to the media for interviews.
