Minnesota Swarm News Release
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Swarm Owners John and Andy Arlotta announced today a scholarship program for any current or 2009 primary season ticket holders who lost his or her job as of April 1, 2009 and is currently unemployed. Qualified season ticket holders may be nominated or can apply for a Swarm Scholarship to receive their 2010 season tickets compliments of the Swarm. Winners are selected by team personnel and will receive the same number of seats in 2010 that they owned the previous season.
"This has been a tough year for a number of loyal Swarm fans who have lost their jobs and are just not in a position to continue their season tickets." John Arlotta said. "Our scholarship program is designed to help those fans while they are getting back on their feet by providing a way for them to continue to attend Swarm games. Our hope is that watching the best lacrosse players in the world, in the fun environment of a Swarm game, will bring some temporary relief from the problems they are facing at this most difficult time. This scholarship program is a way for us to repay the loyalty of our fans and give back to the community at the same time."
Qualified applicants include current and 2009 season ticket holders. Employment loss must be full time and the layoff notice must occur prior to November 1, 2009.
