(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks, in conjunction with Rochester Youth Camps, announced today that the team will be hosting its annual youth boys' lacrosse camp next week in Pittsford.
Rochester Knighthawks players Joe Walters and Regy Thorpe will join camp directors Bill Warder, former NLL player, and Andrew Whipple, former NLL and MLL player and current head lacrosse coach at Pittsford High School; as special guest instructors.
The camp will be held at the Barker Road Middle School in Pittsford the week of Monday, June 29th to Thursday, July 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camps are open to players ages 6-15 and campers can take advantage of either full-day or half-day instruction.
Later this summer, Pam Mapstone, a three-time U.S. Women's National Lacrosse Team member, will be heading the Girls' Camp form Monday, August 3rd to Friday, August 7th. The camp will also be held at the Barker Road Middle School in Pittsford. The camp is open for girls ages 6-15 and campers can take advantage of either full-day or half-day instruction.
The camps will place a heavy focus on skill development through passing, shooting, ball-handling, in addition to conditioning and team building exercises.
