Ed Carleton will be assisting Gary Etcheverry and the defensive staff at this year's training camp. Currently Carleton is the Defensive Coordinator for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Carleton has spent the last 16 years in coaching and played for the Huskies as a linebacker.
Paul Charbonneau will be working with Bob Wylie and the offensive line. Charbonneau comes from the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux where he is an assistant coach and works with tight ends. He originally joined the Fighting Sioux in 2005.
Former Rider quarterback Marcus Crandell will make his first appearance as a coach as he joins the Green and White to help Jamie Barresi with the quarterbacks. Crandell spent the last 10 years playing in the CFL and was a part of the Riders from 2005-08.
Bob Lancaster, son of the late CFL legend Ron Lancaster, will be working with Alex Smith and linebackers at this year's training camp. Lancaster has spent the last 11 seasons at Catawba College where is currently the defensive coordinator.
Joe Loth has spent the last eight seasons as head coach at Otterbein College in Ohio. In 2007, Loth's team set a school record for the most wins in a season with a record of 9-2 and advancing to the NCAA Division III championship for the first time in the school's history. While at training camp, Loth with be working with Paul LaPolice and the receivers.
Former CFL kicker Gerry McGrath will be brought in to work with Kavis Reed and the kickers for the third straight training camp. McGrath spent seven seasons in the CFL with Saskatchewan, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. After serving as offensive coordinator with the University of Concordia for eight seasons he was named head coach in 2000.
Mesene Louisdor played defensive back in the CFL for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Ottawa Renegades. He also spent time in the NFL as a cornerback with Minnesota and Miami. Louisdor will be working alongside Kavis Reed and assisting with special teams.
