CARSON, CA - Los Alamitos will host a special Chivas USA youth soccer clinic this Tuesday night, May 26, at Los Alamitos High School. The event, part of a partnership that has helped raise money to refurbish the school's varsity soccer field, will consist of free soccer instruction from Chivas USA players and coaches, including Los Alamitos H.S. alum and current Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein, as well as a meet-and-greet with players at the conclusion of the clinic. Local businesses will also have an on-site presence as part of the event.
Tuesday's clinic will take place at Los Alamitos High School, 3591 Cerritos Ave, Los Alamitos, Calif., 90720, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. PT.
Members of the Los Alamitos Boys Soccer program will be in attendance both to participate in the clinic and to raise funds through sales of tickets to Chivas USA's match against Seattle Sounders FC on June 6, which is Los Alamitos Community Night at The Home Depot Center.
Chivas USA defender and 2006 MLS Rookie of the Year Jonathan Bornstein graduated from Los Alamitos High School in 2002, and will help run the clinic to show his support for his hometown's community night. While at Los Alamitos, Bornstein was a member of the boys varsity, and helped the team win the CIF Championship in his final season as a Griffin.
Local businesses interested in having a presence at the event should contact Chivas USA at 1-877-CHIVAS-1. Fans from Los Alamitos and surrounding areas may also purchase tickets to the June 6 match vs. Seattle Sounders FC starting for as low as $18, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Los Alamitos Boys Soccer program.
