Boston, MA - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, returns to ESPN2 on Thursday, May 21 at 11:30 PM ET. The 2009 telecast schedule kicks off from James M. Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University with the Washington Bayhawks visiting the Long Island Lizards. The Bayhawks (0-1) and the Lizards (1-0) have faced each other a total of 16 times before over the past eight seasons, with the series evenly split at eight wins apiece.
The game, will begin at 7 PM ET and streamed live on ESPN360.com, ESPN's broadband content platform. The telecast will be aired at 11:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Dave Ryan, who will be filling in for Joe Beninati, and Quint Kessenich will call this game.
The network will telecast 11 MLL games this season, including the MLL All-Star Game, the New Balance Semi-Final Game and the New Balance Championship Game on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com. All live games will be aired in high definition on ESPN2.The first live telecast of the season will be aired Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com. The game will feature the Boston Cannons against the Toronto Nationals, the first ever outdoor Canadian team to play in the MLL.

ESPN2 has been the national television home of Major League Lacrosse since 2003, and in 2004 aired the New Balance Championship Game, making it the first live national telecast of a Major League Lacrosse competition. In 2007, Major League Lacrosse and ESPN signed a multi-year agreement which extends their relationship through the 2016 season.
