Swift Current Broncos News Release

Edmonton AB-Swift Current Broncos Head Coach and General Manager Dean Chynoweth announced that the club has selected centre Evan Richardson from Nanaimo, BC with their 1st round selection, 15th over-all, in the WHL Bantam Draft.

Richardson played for the Pursuit of Excellence Program in Kelowna this past season; he is 5'6" and 135 pounds.

Director of Player Personnel and Head Scout Jamie Porter says: "Evan is a skilled, speedy forward that can play centre or wing. We feel that he is probably the fastest skater in the draft. He has that ability to get into a 2nd and 3rd gear."

With their second round selection, 37th over-all, the Broncos selected left winger Shea Howorko from the Notre Dame Hounds. Howorko lives in Regina but is originally from Swift Current. He is 5'11" and 165 pounds. Last season he had 22 goals and 43 points in 23 games with the Hounds.
