Wranglers Advance in Game Seven, Ground Condors 5-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (4-3) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (3-4) 5-1 in Game Seven of the Pacific Division Semi Finals in front of 3,244 fans Wednesday night at Orleans Arena. Wranglers forward Chris Neiszner notched two goals and an assist as the Wranglers move on to the Pacific Division Finals. Las Vegas goalie Glenn Fisher made 31 saves for his third win of the playoffs. Chris St. Croix, Dan Spang, and Dan Riedel also scored for Las Vegas. Rookie forward Scott McCulloch picked up three assists in the win. Condors' goalie Yutaka Fukufuji stopped 23 of 28 shots in the Bakersfield loss. Forward Mark Derlago scored the only Condors goal. Las Vegas will open the second round in Stockton to play the Thunder Friday night at 7:30 PM.
Las Vegas opened the scoring with a power-play goal from defenseman Chris St. Croix. Forward Dan Riedel slipped the puck to St. Croix at 6:01 for the 1-0 Wranglers lead. Wranglers forward Chris Neiszner padded the score at 10:28 with his first goal of the playoffs. Neiszner put in a J.D. Watt rebound for the 2-0 Las Vegas lead.
In the second period, Chris Neiszner tallied his second goal of the game just 1:42 into the middle period. Neiszner snapped a wrist shot from the right circle past Condors goalie Yutaka Fukufuji for the 3-0 Wranglers lead. Bakersfield chipped into the lead with a power-play goal at 11:32 of the second period. Forward Mark Derlago tipped in a Jay Langager shot from the point to cut the score to 3-1. Las Vegas answered back with a power-play goal just 1:40 later. Forward Dan Riedel notched in his fourth goal of the playoffs for the 4-1 Wranglers lead. Las Vegas stretched the lead to four goals with 1:48 remaining in the second period. Chris Neiszner found defenseman Dan Spang, finishing a two-on-one breakaway, making it 5-1 Las Vegas after two periods.
Las Vegas will open the Pacific Division Finals in Stockton Friday, April 24th at 7:00PM.
