Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors 4-0 in Game Four of the Pacific Division Semi Finals in front of 5,592 fans Friday night at Rabobank Arena. Las Vegas goalie John DeCaro made 34 saves for his first career playoff shutout, tying the best of seven series 2-2 and forcing Game 6 on Tuesday night in Las Vegas at 7:30 pm. Wranglers forwards Mick Lawrence, Kelly Czuy, Dan Riedel and J.D. Watt each scored in the victory. Bakersfield goalie Yutaka Fukufuji suffered the loss, stopped 33 of 37 Las Vegas shots. Game 6 will be held in Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 21st. Ticket holders use the ticket for Playoff Game C.

Playoff Plots

For the first time in the series, the team that scored the first goal of the night was the eventual winner.

Las Vegas goalie John DeCaro is 1-1 with a 2.66 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in the playoffs.

Left wing Kelly Czuy leads all scorers in the series with four goals and eight points in four games.

Around the ECHL - Playoff Update

The South Carolina Stingrays took a 3-2 series lead with a convincing 8-3 win last night at home over Charlotte in Game 5. Game Six is in Charlotte at 7:00 PM (EST) on Sunday night.

Defending Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati took a 3-2 series lead over Wheeling with a 2-1 win last night over the Nailers in West Virginia. The Cyclones host Game Six Saturday night at 7:30 pm (EST).

The West Division Champion Alaska Aces now have a 3-1 lead in their series with Utah. The Aces won Game Four last night 5-2 and will play Game Five Saturday in Utah at 7:05 PM (MST).

The Stockton Thunder tied their series with Ontario 2-2 after a 5-4 OT win at home last night in Game Four. Game Five is Sunday in Stockton at 4:00 pm.

The Brabham Cup Champion Florida Everblades now lead Gwinnett 3-2 in their best of seven series. The Blades won Game Four last night in Gwinnett by a score of 4-2. The Gladiators host Game Five this Sunday at 4:05 pm (EST).

The Victoria Salmon Kings finished off the Idaho Steelheads last night, completing the series sweep with a 2-1 OT win over the Steelheads. Victoria will play the winner of the Alaska-Utah series. Idaho has been swept out of the first round two years in a row after winning a Kelly Cup in 2007.

Elmira claimed a 3-1 series lead over Trenton with a 3-1 Game Four win on Thursday night at home. Game Five is Saturday night at 7:35 PM (PST) in Elmira.

Wranglers in the AHL

Center Tyler Mosienko and winger Matt Beaudoin are the last two Wranglers on the playoff roster that remain in the AHL. Mosienko and the Rockford Ice Hogs trail the Milwaukee Admirals 1-0 in their best of seven series. Mosienko had an assist on the Hogs only goal of the night in Game One. Game Two is tonight in Milwaukee at 7:30 PM (CST).

Beaudoin remains with the Houston Aeros, who tied their best of seven series with the Peoria Rivermen after winning Game Two last night on the road, a 2-0 shutout in Peoria. Beaudoin has an assist in two playoff games with the Aeros. Game Three is tonight in Houston at 7:35 pm (CST).
