April 3, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Wichita Wild News Release
On the eve of the Wild's home opener on Saturday, the Wichita Wild would like to announce the signings of Kevin McAlmont and John Mobley. Both players may see action on the offensive and defensive line this season for the Wild.
McAlmont started his professional career in 2006 with the Macon Knights of Arena Football2. In the summer of 2006, McAlmont was signed by the New York Giants and participated in their training camp before being released.
The Union City, GA native was signed by the Denver Broncos in January of 2007 and was assigned to NFL Europe by the team and played for the Berlin Thunder.
McAlmont's last stop before joining the Wild was the New Orleans Voodoo of the Arena Football League (AFL), where he played during the 2008 season. McAlmont started his final 28 games for the Western Carolina Catamounts at left guard where he led the way for current Wild running back Darius Fudge.
Mobley will be entering his second season of indoor football. He started the 2008 season by starting the first two games of the season for the Billings Outlaws of the IFL. Mobley did not allow a sack on those games, but was released. Mobley then signed with the New Mexico Wildcats of the American Indoor Football Association.
Mobley finished playing at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) in 2007. Mobley finished his WSSU career with 21 appearances and 20 starts as he anchored a WSSU offensive front that saw three 1,000 yard rushers over a two-year span. Before going to WSSU, Mobley played for one season at North Carolina A & T.
