Generals Unveil Team Jersey, Mascot and Field Name

EL PASO, TX: The El Paso Generals had several announcements made at a press conference on Thursday, April 2, from the El Paso County Coliseum. The first was the unveiling of the new Generals mascot which will be a bird wearing a Generals uniform. No official word has been announced, but according to the poll question from the Generals website, the mascot name that received the most votes was "Patton". Additionally, the Generals unveiled the team jerseys along with the naming rights of the Generals field at the El Paso County Coliseum.

EL PASO GENERALS MASCOT -

The El Paso Generals mascot will be an eagle in reference to both the American Bald Eagle and the eagle featured on the Indoor Football League logo. According to the poll question on www.elpasogenerals.com, the most votes received for the mascot name was "Patton". The Generals mascot will be featured wearing a Generals jersey.

GENERALS UNVEIL TEAM JERSEY -

The El Paso Generals additionally unveiled the team jerseys for the 2009 season. The jerseys will feature dark green, brown, and black colors to correspond with the helmet logo of a football in the shape of a grenade. The colors are in reference to the Army (Generals), and all Generals fans will get a first look at the uniforms on Saturday, April 4, 2009 when the Generals open up the 2009 regular season at home versus the Corpus Christi Hammerheads.

FIELD NAMING RIGHTS -

When the Generals and Hammerheads take the field on Saturday, April 4, 2009, they will be stepping onto Hoy Fox Field. The El Paso Generals front office announced on Thursday that the Generals field at the El Paso County Coliseum will be known as Hoy Fox Field for the 2009 season.

"Today was another important day for the Generals organization. We are very excited to unveil both the team jersey and the mascot for the upcoming season. Also, we are proud to name our field, Hoy Fox Field, and we want to thank Hoy Fox for their support toward the Generals. We are anticipating such a great season and we can't wait to get started in just a few days." stated El Paso Generals General Manager, Dart Clark.
