Manitoba Moose News Release

The Manitoba Moose swept the Hamilton Bulldogs with a 3-2 victory in the only Sunday afternoon matchup at the MTS Centre this season. Jason Krog scored his team leading 29th goal, Travis Ramsey notched his second and Jason Jaffray netted the game-winner. Goaltender Cory Schneider continued his hot streak with an almost flawless performance stopping 44 of 46 shots for his 28th victory this season.

An early hooking penalty to Hamilton's Yannick Weber put the Moose on the powerplay a mere 51 seconds into the match-up. Manitoba was only able to test Marc Denis once on the man-advantage before play returned to five-on-five.

At 3:35 Hamilton opened the scoring when Brock Trotter beat Cory Schneider by firing the puck over his left pad to claim the first lead of the game.

Hamilton's powerplay unit made their first appearance at 5:09, thanks to a charging penalty handed out to Alexandre Bolduc. Manitoba penalty killers, fourth in the league, denied all opposing opportunities and didn't even allow the visitors to fire a shot on net during the two-minutes.

Midway through the game, Mike Glumac's delay of game call gave the Moose their second powerplay opportunity. With seconds left, Matt Pope's backhanded attempt was stopped by Denis, but Jason Krog caught the rebound and redirected it into the net to knot the game at one.

Templers flared between tough-guy Guillaume Desbiens and Alex Henry in front of the penalty boxes. After several minutes of back and forth hits, both players were penalized with five-minute fighting majors with an additional two-minute roughing minor to Henry.

5:31 into the third period, the Moose claimed the lead. Poised at the point, Travis Ramsey slapped the puck through the traffic and into the net, 2-1.

The Moose extended their lead even further when Jason Jaffray flew down the left side of the ice and smacked the puck top shelf on Denis for a 3-1 tally.

At 18:12, the Bulldogs earned their fifth powerplay and inched closer with a goal courtesy of Ben Maxwell. In the dying minutes, the Bulldogs fought to tie the game but the Moose stood strong and walked away with a 3-2 victory over Hamilton.
