Grizzlies Home Four Of The Next Six Nights

Utah Grizzlies News Release

Update

The Grizzlies at 18-16-6-8 open up a four-game home stand tonight. After this weekend, Utah will begin an eight-game road trip February 25 in Idaho starting a stretch that includes 14 of 20 games on the road to finish the season. Tonight, Utah continues their stretch of four-straight home games against Bakersfield after playing the Condors last Tuesday and Wednesday.

Trying To Finish Strong At Home

Utah is 6-3-3-3 in their last 15 home games dating back to December 12.

Red Hot Rookie

Sunday in Las Vegas, all-star Tom May set an all-time Grizzlies record with a goal in his ninth-straight game. Brad Lauer had a goal in eight-straight games from January 15-30, 1999. In total, 11 of May's 17 goals this season have come in the last eleven games.

Red Hot Goaltender

Peter Mannino who has seen time this year with the New York Islanders as well as their AHL affiliate in Bridgeport, has started six-straight games for the Grizzlies and has stopped 84 of 87 shots in his last eight periods. The Grizzlies and Mannino have allowed two goals or less in four of their last five games.

Short Bench

Following a rash of call-ups to the AHL and an injury, the Grizzlies have been playing with just 13-14 skaters for the last six games. Utah is 3-2-0-1 during that stretch and 3-1-0-1 in their last five games.

Staying Out Of The Penalty Box

Part of Utah's recent "shorthanded" success can be attributed to the team staying out of the penalty box. Utah has gone shorthanded just 32 times in the last eight games and has gone shorthanded two times or less in three of those contests.
