CARSON, Calif. (Monday, Feb. 9, 2009) - Chivas USA forward Atiba Harris, a three year MLS veteran and a St. Kitts and Nevis international, is expected to be sidelined for 2-4 weeks with a mild MCL sprain in his right knee. Harris, who was tied for first on the team in games played in 2008, suffered the injury during Chivas USA's practice on Saturday morning. He is currently rehabbing the injury in Los Angeles and did not travel to Guadalajara for the team's 10-day training stint in Mexico.

The St. Kitts and Nevis international had played for Real Salt Lake in 2006 and 2007 before coming to the Red-and-White in a trade. Harris also played in the youth system of Newcastle United in England, and has represented his country at every level, making his debut with his full national team at the age of 15.

Chivas USA kicks off its fifth campaign in Major League Soccer when its hosts the Colorado Rapids in an Opening Day match on Saturday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center.
