Tordjman Named Reebok X-Pulse/AHL Goaltender of the Month

SAN ANTONIO (February 2, 2009) - The San Antonio Rampage announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League that Josh Tordjman has been named the Reebok X-Pulse/AHL Goaltender of the Month for January. Tordjman was 9-4-0 in 13 appearances for the Rampage last month, with a 2.01 goals-against average, a .933 save percentage and one shutout.

Tordjman allowed three goals or fewer in each of his 13 starts in January, a month highlighted by a 47-save shutout of Peoria on Jan. 18 marking a season-high. He also stopped 32 of 33 shots at Milwaukee on Jan. 23 and had a 37-save effort on Jan. 30 vs. Quad City, earning first-star honors in each of those games.

On December 1 Tordjman had a 1-10-1 record. Since then he has gone 18-6-0, saving 621of 667 shots, a 0.931 save percentage, and allowing 45 goals for a 1.96 goals-against average to bring his record over .500 (19-16-1) in the two month span. Tordjman has recorded four shutouts since December 4.

In recognition of his achievement, Tordjman will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Rampage home game.

Tordjman ranks second in the AHL in appearances (37) and minutes played (2,131) and fourth in shots faced (1,022) and saves (935) while posting a 19-16-1 record with four shutouts for San Antonio. The 24-year-old Montreal native is in his third pro season and has a career record of 56-48-7 and six shutouts in 117 AHL games, all with the Rampage. Tordjman signed as a free agent with Phoenix on July 2, 2006.
