Whitfield, 31, has posted 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 36 games with Peoria this season, placing second on the team in goals and points, as well as third place in assists. This will mark the seventh career NHL call-up for Whitfield in his 11-year career and his first since October 2005.
