WARRIORS RECALL DEMARCUS NELSON
The Golden State Warriors have recalled guard DeMarcus Nelson from the Bakersfield Jam. Nelson, 23, started all nine games for the Jam after being assigned on November 14, and averaged 16.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.22 steals in 32.7 minutes per contest in the D-League. At the time of his recall, he led the team in scoring and steals, while ranking second in assists and third in rebounds.Prior to being assigned to Bakersfield, Nelson appeared in eight games for the Warriors this season (five starts), averaging 5.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 14.6 minutes per contest. The 6-4 guard became the first undrafted rookie to appear in the starting lineup on Opening Night for the Warriors since the team moved to the West Coast in 1962.
TUESDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Tuesday's games
Dominique Coleman and Eddie Gill each scored 13 points in a huge fourth quarter Tuesday night as the Colorado 14ers rallied and pulled away for a 118-99 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Coleman had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Gill finished with 18 points. Josh Davis scored 15 points, Denver assignee Sonny Weems added 14 and D-League Performer of the Week James Mays had 12 and eight rebounds for the 14ers.
Alpha Bangura scored 19 points and Kendall Dartez added 16 and seven rebounds for the Vipers.
Jermareo Davidson led with 18 points as the Idaho Stampede posted their fourth straight victory with Tuesday's 92-81 win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Brent Petway and Lance Allred each scored 15 for the Stampede.
Dwayne Mitchell paced Los Angeles with 25 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS...a look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games
Nine players with D-League experience competed in six NBA games last night, one as a starter. Here are the highlights:
Aaron Brooks recorded 18 points and dished six assists in 42 minutes, as a starter for the Houston Rockets.
Charlotte's Matt Carroll tallied 7 points and played 30 minutes as the Bobcats defeated the Bulls 110-101.
Devin Brown chipped in six points, playing 17 minutes in the Hornets 91-84 win over the Grizzlies.
