Generals make addition to coaching staff

November 13, 2008 - International Hockey League (IHL) Flint Generals

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals proud members of the IHL and Double A Affiliate of the defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings held a press conference this morning to introduce a familiar face to hockey fans.

Bobby Reynolds, who coached the Generals during the 2005-2006 season and also played for the team for seven seasons has been named to the coaching staff.

The announcement at the press conference was made by members of The Perani Group Bob Perani, Travis Prince and Chuck Glassock.

Reynolds played 17 seasons in professional hockey including seven games in the National Hockey League with the team that originally drafted him the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Reynolds played four seasons in the old International Hockey League with the Kalamazoo Wings, Detroit Vipers and the Houston Aeros. He also played in the American Hockey League as well as overseas in Europe in Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

The Flint Generals return to action tonight at 7 pm at Perani Arena and Event Center when they entertain the first place Fort Wayne Komets at 7 pm. It's Ladies Hockey in Heels Night and there will be a pre-game hockey 101 session as well as post game meet and greet with the players.

After a road trip to Kalamazoo to face the Wings tomorrow (Friday) night at 7:30 pm, the Generals return home to Perani Arena and Event Center to face the Port Huron Icehawks.
