Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons are proud to announce that they will be participating in the Rays of Hope Walk to be held on Sunday, October 26th at Forest Park in Springfield.
"We are so thrilled to be part of this event," said Shauna Truitt, wife of Falcons' Head Coach Jeff Truitt. Truitt, along with Carol Fleming (Asst. Coach Gerry Fleming) and Brooke Chalmers (Assistant Coach Dave Bell), "We are looking forward to being a part of the Springfield community and showcasing the great work of the Falcons Family."
The Rays of Hope Walk is now in its 15th year and has raised over $5 million to date. Rays of Hope - A Walk Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer was founded in 1994 by Springfield native, Lucy Giuggio, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 38. All funds raised for Rays of Hope are used throughout Western Massachusetts and its surrounding communities.
Falcons Wives, Girlfriends, Staff and Screech, the Falcons' mascot, will be accepting donations and encouraging walkers to join them at October Falcons' home games at their Community Relations Table.
Fans can also sign up on-line at the Springfield Falcons Team Page by logging www.baystatehealth.com/raysofhope and sponsor a team (Springfield Falcons).
