Alouettes To Honour Mike Pringle For His Induction To The Canadian Football Hall Of Fame

Montreal, Oct. 10, 2008 - Prior to Monday's game featuring the Montreal Alouettes and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Alouettes will honour the Canadian Football League's best running back of all-time, Mike Pringle, for his induction into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame on Sept. 20.
Pringle began his CFL career in 1992, playing three games with the Edmonton Eskimos before signing with the Sacramento Gold Miners with whom he played 18 games in 1993. He then joined the Baltimore Stallions in 1994, winning the Grey Cup with them in 1995. He followed the team when it moved to Montreal in 1996 and that same season, attended training camp with the NFL's Denver Broncos before returning to the Alouettes for the second half of the season.
The highlight of his career came with the Alouettes in 1998 as he became the first player in league history to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season (2,065). Seven years and one Grey Cup championship later, Pringle went back to Edmonton where he won another Grey Cup in 2003. In 2004, he became the most prolific running back in CFL history, finishing his career with a total of 16,424 rushing yards.
The Alouettes retired his number 27 on June 21, 2005. Pringle then signed a one-day contract to finish his career in an Alouette uniform.
