Dayton Bombers News Release

Dayton, OH - Dayton Bombers head coach Bill McDonald announced today the signing of center Christian Gaudet for the 2008-09 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gaudet played a complete season with the Utah Grizzlies in 2007-08, appearing in all 72 regular season games and an additional 12 games in the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The first-year pro had 7 goals and 14 assists for 21 points and 42 PIM.

"I learned a lot from my teammates during the playoffs last season and improved my game," Gaudet said. "I have more of a smart, defensive game now that will lead to putting up good numbers for the Bombers."

The centerman made his professional debut with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League during the 2006-07 season, skating in four games.

"Christian is the type of player that will give it his all every night," said McDonald. "He's competitive by nature and that will have a positive impact on the whole team."

Gaudet, a native of Memramcook, New Brunswick, played four seasons with the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in a combined 258 games, a team record. He tallied 42 goals and 68 assists for 110 points.

Gaudet also picked up 58 total games in the post-season, including 19 games on the way to the 2006 President's Cup Championship. He had 16 points (8g,8a) in the playoffs following a career-high 48 point (17g,31a) regular season.
