Former Lynx Broadcaster Joins NHL's Predators

AUGUSTA, Ga.− Former Augusta Lynx broadcaster and director of public relations Tom Callahan has been named the radio broadcaster for the Nashville Predators of the NHL, it was announced today.

"We are absolutely thrilled for Tom," Lynx general manager Dan Troutman said. "We pride ourselves on being a developmental league, and that includes our staff, as well. Tom has worked hard for this opportunity, and we know that he'll make the most of it."

Callahan served as Voice of the Lynx for four seasons, coming to Augusta in 2003 before leaving for the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL in May of 2007. He will serve as the Predators' radio broadcaster for 55 games this season, and will assist the TV crew of Pete Weber and Terry Crisp for the other 17 games. The Predators are carried regionally on FSN South, and can be heard on their flagship station in the Nashville area WGFX-FM, 104.7.

"I know my experience in Augusta played a crucial role in advancing my career," Callahan said. "I enjoyed my time in Augusta, and I miss the fans and the people who really made my four years with the Lynx. Thank you all."
