Tickets On Sale Now For Amerks Home Preseason Game

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that tickets for the Amerks' home preseason contest on Saturday, October 4th against the Lake Erie Monsters are now on sale. Faceoff is slated for 7:35 p.m. at the ESL Sports Centre.
All tickets are $5.00 general admission seating and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are available for purchase at the Amerks office and at the ESL Sports Centre. Prior to the start of the 2008-09 season, the team will hold the first "Amerks Fan-Fest" to welcome the teams' 53rd season in the American Hockey League on Sunday, October 5th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena. The event is free and open to the public.
Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to meet the entire 2008-09 team, hang out with The Moose and even meet the new head coach, Benoit Groulx. As part of the festivities, the clown duo of Sunbeam and Gadgets will be on hand to provide amusement for the masses. The players will also mingle among the crowd and will be available for photographs and a full team autograph session.
The entertainment does not stop there as kids can enjoy the fun of the Amerks inflatables, face-painters, games and other activities. Fans can help raise money for charity by contributing funds in exchange for the chance to sink a member of the Amerks organization in a dunk tank. Lastly, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets and select their seat for the 2008-09 season.
The gates will open for the event starting at 1:00 p.m. There will be an introduction of the team, the new owners, coaching staff and captain as they will address the crowd on ice in the arena. Following the announcements, fans who bring their own skates will be allowed to skate with the players. At the end of the open skate there will be a full team autograph session in the main lobby of the arena for fans with the event scheduled to conclude at 4:00 p.m.
The Amerks will open their 53rd AHL season on Friday, October 10th at 7:35 p.m. against the Syracuse Crunch at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. Rochester enters the season as the sole affiliate of the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers. The Amerks announced a three-year deal with the Panthers on June 19, 2008.
