THE HILLCATS: Last night Lynchburg defeated Winston-Salem 4-3 in the opener of a three-game series at City Stadium...It was the fourth game of six in a row at home and the first game after the three-day all-star break...The Cats have now matched their longest winning streak of the season with three straight victories and have won three in a row at home for the first time all season...This after they matched their longest losing skid of the season by dropping five consecutive games...

VS. WINSTON-SALEM: Last season the Warthogs won the season series against the Hillcats 11-8...The Warthogs are 6-5 against the Hillcats this season, but the Cats have won three-out-of-four in the Hill City...The Cats hold the all-time advantage 142-126 and are 79-56 at City Stadium against the Hogs...

WALK-OFF FASHION: After 74 games without a walk-off win this season the Hillcats have won two of their last three games with a walk-off win...Last night OF Alex Presley singled in 1B Kent Sakamoto with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Cats the 4-3 victory...Last Saturday 3B Jim Negrych scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth to give Lynchburg their first walk-off win of the season...

HOT AGAIN: 1B Kent Sakamoto extended his season-long hit-streak to 10 games with a 2-for-2 night last night...The former Fresno State walk-on had a double, a triple, an RBI, a pair of walks and scored the winning run in the ninth inning...Over his last ten games the first baseman has gone 16-for-38 (.421) with six doubles, a triple, a homer, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored...He has scored in six straight games and doubled in four consecutive contests...Sakamoto started the year well, batting .333 (20-for-60) through his first 15 games with 10 doubles and 12 RBI, but batted just .205 (35-for-171) with three doubles over his next 46 contests...

BOUNCE BACK: RHP Michael Crotta allowed just two runs in six innings of work and matched a season-high with six strikeouts in taking a no-decision in last night's win last night's 4-3 win...In Crotta's previous start the righthander allowed a career-high 10 runs (nine earned) and pitched a season-low one inning in a 13-8 loss at Kinston...The Indians scored 13 runs in all in that frame (the most ever allowed in an inning by the Hillcats), he first ten reached off of Crotta and scored before an out was recorded...

HIT OR MISS: OF Jamie Romak has gone 10-for-31 (.323) with five doubles, seven runs and five RBI in his last eight games...He has also struckout 16 times in those 31 at-bats...Which means when Romak has put the ball in play over the past eight ballgames he is 10-for-15 (.667)...The former fourth round draft pick has more RBI per game (34 in 48 games) than anyone on the team, but he also is averaging more K's (63 in 48 games) than anyone on the squad...

DURHAM DELIVERING: Recently promoted 1B Miles Durham has been shredding the South Atlantic league with the Hickory Crawdads...The mid-season SAL All-Star was leading the league in hits (100), slugging percentage (.585), tied for first in RBI (57), was second in batting average (.348), extra-base hits (39), runs (53), tied for second in doubles (24) and was third in home runs (14) at the time of his call-up...In his last 21 games he batted .430 (37-for-86) with five homers, 13 doubles and 16 RBI...He closed out his time with the Dads with five straight multi-hit games (11-for-22) and has collected more than one hit nine of his last ten games...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Clevelan Santeliz was signed as a 17-year old free agent in 2004 by the White Sox out of Venezuela...Pitched for the Dominican White Sox his first two years as a professional and went a combined 2-4 with a 4.59 ERA in 28 games (two starts)...In 2006 he struggled as a reliever for Low-A Kannapolis going 0-2 with a 6.58 ERA in 16 games out of the bullpen, before moving down to the rookie level and the Great Falls White Sox...In the Pioneer League he became a starter and went 1-8 with a 4.77 ERA in 14 starts...Last season he split time between Kannapolis and Winston-Salem, relieving for both teams...With the Intimidators he went 1-4 with a 6.69 ERA in 27 games and he went 2-1 with a 4.30 ERA in 14 games for the Warthogs...This season Santeliz began the season with Double-A Birmingham and posted an 0-1 record with 4.41 ERA in 10 outings out of the pen...Since coming back down to the Hogs he has made three starts and gone 0-2 with a 3.72 ERA...He has made three appearances against Lynchburg (all last season and all in relief) and has gone 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA (5.0 ip, 4 h, 3 r, 3 er, 3 bb, 5 k)...
