Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Ben Revere had another big night for the Snaps, going 3 for 4 and helping Beloit take game two of the doubleheader with the LumberKings. Michael Tarsi picked up his third win of the season, going six innings allowing just one run while striking out seven.
Beloit got things going first with a run in the top of the first inning. Garrett Olson delivered an RBI-ground out to third base, scoring Joe Benson from third. Benson's run put the Snappers ahead 1-0.
The Twins' class A affiliate scored another run in the top of the second inning on a Ben Revere RBI-single to center. Revere's single made it a 2-0 Beloit lead after one and a half.
After Clinton scored a run of their own in the bottom of the second, the Snappers exploded for four runs in the top half of the third inning.
The big blow came off the bat of Ramon Santana. Ramon blasted a two-run homer over the left field wall, scoring Steve Singleton from second base.
After the top of the third, Santana and the Snappers had a commanding 6-1 lead.
The LumberKings scored again in the bottom of the seventh inning to draw to within four runs, 6-2. That would be all she wrote for Clinton, as the Snappers went on to take game two by a 6-2 score.
The win earned the Snappers a doubleheader split with the LumberKings and helped improve their overall record to 29-25.
