May 5, 2008 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Edmonton Chill News Release

The Edmonton Chill continued their winning ways Sunday night as they dropped an avalanche on the Central Oregon Hotshots as they cruised to a 165-138 win, and it was not even that close.

The Chill were really hitting on all cylinders as they dropped 22 three-pointers, dished out 36 assists, and out-rebounded Commissioner Mikial Duilio's club 51-34. The Chill dominated this game from the opening tip as they built a 7-0 lead on their way to a 37-20 lead after 12 minutes. It would get no better for the visitors as the Chill poured in 45 points in the second quarter and led 82-55. From there the hometown team went into cruise control, but still managed a franchise best scoring half with 83 points in the final 24 minutes. The game was highlighted by the stellar 3-point shooting of Stephen Sir and Rashaun Broadus who combined to shoot 15-21 from downtown. Sir would be the high scorer for the Chill with 34, followed by32 from Broadus and 22 from team captain JR Patrick. The Chill also had great balance on the boards with 5 players topping six rebounds, led by Lee Scruggs and Sir who each had nine.

Two players really stood out for Central Oregon, Jeff Dunn and Terry Horton. Dunn seemed to score at will in the game notching 46 on a 16-27 shooting night that included 9-20 from beyond the arc. Terry Horton supplied great energy all over the court scoring 29 points and grabbing a team high 11 rebounds, six on the offensive glass.

The Chill will look to keep the streak going next week as the Jazz of Tacoma come to town for two games, Friday and Saturday night at the Grant MacEwan gym.
