Gall Grabs PCL Player Of The Week Honors

April 21, 2008 - Pacific Coast League (PCL) Albuquerque Isotopes

Thanks in part to a series in Memphis in which he mauled Redbirds pitching, Albuquerque Isotopes outfielder John Gall has been named Pacific Coast League Batter of the Week for games beginning on April 14 and continuing through April 20. Gall becomes the first Isotope to garner PCL accolades this season.

In 24 at-bats, Gall racked up 11 hits (a .458 batting average for the week), including two doubles, four homers, eight runs scored and nine RBI in seven games. On April 16, Gall belted two homers in a game at Memphis and followed that performance up with a three-run blast the next day. The native of Portola Valley, California closed out the week by homering in three of his last five games. Gall is also currently enjoying a season-high eight-game hitting streak.

Albuquerque will put the finishing touches on a short, four-game homestand beginning tonight with the always highly anticipated 50-cent Hot Dog Night. Tomorrow, the ‘Topes will host their second Business Person's Special of the Season with $5 haircuts courtesy Supercuts and $3 shoe shines courtesy Model Shine Parlor, with all proceeds benefiting Joy Junction. Tickets can be purchased at Isotopes Park or any Ticketmaster outlet, www.ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster by phone 505-883-7800.
