Undefeated Soul Set To Face Destroyers

April 18, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) - Philadelphia Soul News Release

The undefeated Philadelphia Soul (7-0) look to extend their best start in franchise history on Monday, April 28 when they travel to face the defending National Conference champion Columbus Destroyers (2-5). The game kicks off at 8 p.m. (et) and can seen nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN2HD, while also being heard locally on 950 ESPN Philadelphia and streaming on-line at www.950ESPN.com.

Starting QB Tony Graziani's return will determined at game time. "Graz" was forced to sit out for the past four games after suffering a sprained MCL in his left knee during the 3rd quarter of Week 3 versus the New York Dragons. Graziani was knocked out of the game after throwing a touchdown to Larry Brackins when he fell to a late hit by Dragons defensive nose guard John Nix. Last season, the Soul lost four consecutive games when Graziani was injured with a separated shoulder. However, QB Matt D'Orazio continued the Soul's winning streak this season.

WR Chris "Money" Jackson seeks yet another career milestone in the game as he is just five TD receptions away from becoming the third player in AFL history to have 300 TD catches. Jackson, who already surpassed the 900-reception and 12,000-yard mark for his career earlier this season, has 65 catches for 851 yards with 26 touchdowns this season. He needs just four more touchdowns to surpass the Soul's single-season franchise record of 29 TD receptions and six more TDs to become the Soul's single-season overall TD leader.

The Soul are 4-4 all-time against Columbus, going 2-2 at Nationwide Arena. However, the Soul have lost two straight in Columbus.
