Several media outlets are reporting that San Francisco Giants shortstop Omar Vizquel might make a rehab assignment against the Modesto Nuts at John Thurman Field. Vizquel, on the disabled list with a sore knee, was supposed to take the field with the San Jose Giants during their opening series against the Bakersfield Blaze over the weekend. Vizquel was a late scratch on Sunday and will travel to San Francisco on Monday for an exam. Pending the results of the exam, Vizquel might join the San Jose Giants on Monday or Tuesday against the Modesto Nuts.
