Wild Recalls Benoit Pouliot

HOUSTON, Texas - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center/left wing Benoit Pouliot (BEHN-wah, POO-lee-ott) from the American Hockey League's (AHL) Houston Aeros.

Pouliot, 21 (9/29/86), played in three November games with the Wild, recording two shots on goal. Pouliot ranks seventh on the Aeros' roster with 24 points (10-14=24) and fifth with 67 PIM. He also has three power play goals. Pouliot appeared in three games last season with the Wild, while accumulating 36 points (19-17=36) and 109 PIM in 67 games with the Aeros. The 6-foot-3, 199-pound native of Alfred, Ont., was Minnesota's first-round pick (No. 4 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Pouliot will wear No. 67 with the Wild. Pouliot made his NHL debut with the Wild at Montreal on Nov. 22, 2006.

The Aeros will host the Rockford IceHogs Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. Fans, don't forget, the Hanson Brothers of the acclaimed 1977 classic hockey movie Slap Shot will be at the game.
