(Southfield, Mich., March 7, 2008) - The Detroit Ignition (17-7) host the Orlando Sharks (3-23) on Friday, March 14 at Compuware Arena at 7:35 pm (ET). In honor of St. Patrick's Day, the Ignition will be holding their annual Green Jersey Night, where fans have the chance to bid on their favorite Ignition player's limited edition 2008 St. Patrick's Day jersey.

March 14, 2008: Detroit Ignition (17-7) vs. Orlando Sharks (3-23) The expansion Orlando Sharks will take the field at Compuware Arena for the first time on Friday, March 14 at 7:35 pm. The Ignition defeated the Sharks just last Friday by a score of 13-6 in Orlando - Kyt Selaidopoulos led the team with a three-point goal and two assist for five points. The Ignition acquired defender Bill Sedgewick from the Sharks last week for a player to be named later; Sedgewick was a part of the Ignition's inaugural campaign roster.

LAST WEEK'S OUTINGS: March 7, 2008: Ignition, 13 Sharks, 6: The Detroit Ignition defeated the expansion Orlando Sharks 13-6 at Amway Arena Friday night and secured a postseason berth in the process. The win also gave the Ignition a share of first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League.

The Ignition held nothing back as the match got underway, scoring nine unanswered points on the home team. Defender Jonathan Greenfield got things started for the club with a two-point tally with just over a minute to play in the first quarter. Midfielder Vahid Assadpour put an unassisted two-point shot past Orlando keeper Antonio Iriarte at 3:11 of the second quarter to give Detroit a 4-0 lead at the half. Birmingham native Ryan Mack continued the club's assault in the third quarter, adding two more points for the Ignition at 2:06. At 6:59, midfielder Kyt Selaidopoulos buried a three-pointer to give Detroit a 9-0 lead.

With just over a minute left in the third quarter, Orlando forward Felipe Lawall gave the Sharks their first points of the night with an unassisted two-point goal. At 3:06 of the fourth quarter, Ignition rookie Leo Gibson scored his first MISL goal - a two-point tally off an assist from Droo Callahan. Forward Jorge Valle notched two points for Orlando with an unassisted goal at 5:44. Less than two minutes later, midfielder Ze Roberto netted a two-point shot for Detroit with an assist from Selaidopoulos. Chris Cerroni added one more goal for the Sharks before the night was over, but the Ignition held on and came away with a 13-6 victory.

March 9, 2008: Ignition, 15 Storm, 7: The Detroit Ignition (17-7) defeated the visiting Chicago Storm (14-11) 15-7 in front of a sell-out crowd at Compuware Arena on Sunday. The club remains tied with the Milwaukee Wave (17-7) for first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League.

Reigning MISL MVP Jamar Beasley got the Ignition off to a roaring start, scoring his 300th MISL point with a two-point goal just 15 seconds in the match. Forward Hewerton Moreira netted a two-point tally for Detroit at 1:02 of the second quarter to put the club up 4-0 at half-time. Midfielder Ryan Mack was credited with the assist on the goal.

Just under three minutes into the second half, Ignition captain Droo Callahan increased Detroit's lead to six with an unassisted two-point score. Chicago forward Benjamin Chavolla put the Storm on the board seven seconds later with a two-point goal off an assist from Edgar Rivera. Mack responded for the Ignition at 7:48 of the third, netting a two-pointer with an assist from Hewerton.

27 seconds into the fourth quarter, Hewerton scored his second goal of the night with a three-point shot off an assist from Jonathan Greenfield. Midfielder John Ball added two more points for the visitors at 3:35 with an assist from Fabinho. Less than a minute later, Mack scored his second goal of the night - a two-point tally to bring the score to 13-4. Worteh Sampson rounded out the scoring for the Ignition, burying a two-point shot at 7:37 with an assist from Mack. Andy Rosenband added one more goal for Chicago before time expired, but Detroit came away with a 15-7 win.
