RiverHawks Announce Exhibition Schedule

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks will once again see interleague action in spring training.
On Monday, the RiverHawks announced their exhibition schedule. In addition to a pair of doubleheaders against defending Frontier League champion Windy City, the team will play Joliet, Gary and Schaumburg, members of the independent Northern League.
The exhibition schedule starts only a day after spring training opens. The RiverHawks play 11 a.m. May 8 at Joliet. They play at Gary on May 9, with the time yet to be announced. The road exhibition schedule concludes with a 2 p.m. doubleheader May 10 at Windy City.
The RiverHawks have three home exhibitions scheduled. They play Schaumburg at 6 p.m. on May 11. The ThunderBolts visit for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. on May 17.
Opening Night is at 7:05 p.m. May 21, when the RiverHawks host River City. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
