Torrid Second Half Leads Frost Heaves Past Royal

Burlington, Vt.-The Vermont Frost Heaves shot 67% in the second half and held the visiting Montreal Royal to 33% shooting for the game during a 115-87 victory at Memorial Auditorium on Thursday night.

Terrance Green scored 23 points to lead Vermont, now 22-3 and the top-rated team in the ABA Power Rankings. Issa Konare added 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Antonio Burks contributed 16 and Dokun Akingbade poured in 12. Dwuan Rice and Dwayne Lee combined to dish out 21 assists for the Frost Heaves, who posted their ninth straight victory.

Tommy Mitchell's 29 points led the Royal, who dropped to 7-14.

The Frost Heaves travel to Manchester for a 7:30 p.m. date with the Millrats on Saturday at Southern New Hampshire University. Vermont returns to the Aud in Barre for games on Thursday, Feb. 7, against Halifax, and Saturday, Feb. 9, against Boston. Spaulding High graduate and New York Jets receiver David Ball will serve as the Northfield Savings Bank Community All-Star on Thursday night.
