Charleston RiverDogs News Release

CHARLESTON, SC - Charleston RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols has announced the hiring of four new employees that join the club's front office staff.

According to Echols, Lavon Alls is the new Director Community Relations; Michael Petrini is the new Sales Manager; Will Lindsay is the new Food and Beverage Director; and Michael DeNicola is the new Assistant Food and Beverage Director.

Alls, a recent graduate of the College of Charleston, is a native of Florence. Earning a degree in Business Administration, Alls has worked with The College's Department of Annual Giving in addition to having experience in the field of customer service. She replaces Megan Green, who accepted an administrative position at The Citadel's protocol office.

Petrini is a native of Danbury, CT, and recently graduated with a degree in Sports Management from Endicott College in Beverly, MA. He has working experience with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers baseball club in addition to serving as a RiverDogs' intern this past season. Petrini replaces Courtney Smith, who left to become the Director of Sales for Bulldog Sports Properties, a division of Daktronics, Inc., that has partnered with The Citadel Department of Athletics.

Lindsay, a 2003 graduate of The Citadel with a degree in Criminal Justice, comes to the RiverDogs having served as General Manager of the Wild Wing Café in Athens, Ga. He also has experience at the Wild Wing Café in Augusta, Ga., and with a Charleston-area catering service. Lindsay was also employed by the Charleston Chamber of Commerce as a visitor planner, and replaces Tim Savona, who held the position for two years before moving to become an assistant general manager of a minor league club in Texas.

DeNicola worked for the RiverDogs during the 2006 & '07 seasons in the food and beverage department and served as a manager this past season. He graduated in 2004 with BA in English from Furman University and has worked in various local food and beverage establishments including Hank's, Seabrook Island and Avondale Station. DeNicola replaces Jason Wells.

"We feel that we've brought aboard four quality individuals to replace four quality individuals," said Echols. "They will have a small learning curve since they're either familiar with our inner workings or are familiar with the tri-county area. I'm certain they will fully grasp our 'Fun Is Good' approach to professional baseball and will be assets to our organization."
