Moose release two; Assign Coulombe & Rahimi to Victoria

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have assigned defencemen Patrick Coulombe and Daniel Rahimi to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

The Moose also announced they have released forwards Scott May and Bracken Kearns from their professional tryout contracts.

Coulombe, 22, has appeared in 43 games with the Moose in his career where he's scored six goals and nine assists for 22 penalty minutes. He has also played in one career Calder Cup playoff game last season. The Ste-Fabien, PQ native also played in seven games last season with the Vancouver Canucks where he collected an assist and four penalty minutes. Coulombe also appeared in six games last year in Victoria where he has also collected three assists and two penalty minutes.

Rahimi, 20, is in his first full season in pro hockey in North America. Last year, he appeared in one game with the Moose after completing his season in Sweden with Bjorkloven where he played in 33 games and collected a pair of assists and 18 penalty minutes. Rahimi was originally Vancouver's third round draft choice, 82nd overall, in 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
