September 25, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL) Wheeling Nailers

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the "AA" affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today forward Peter Ferraro has signed a tryout agreement with the club.

Ferraro, 23, has been a consistent offensive contributor for Sacred Heart University during the past four years. The 5-foot-11-inch, 180 pound forward notched his highest point total during his senior season with the Pioneers scoring 15 points (5g, 10a) in 36 games.

"Peter is a very determined young player," said Nailers President Jim Brooks. "He will definitely add some intensity to our team."

During his collegiate career, he tallied 44 points (21g, 23a) in 127 games. He joins Sacred Heart teammate Todd Spencer on the Nailers roster for the upcoming season.

The Nailers will open the ECHL's 20th Anniversary season with a game against the Johnstown Chiefs on Oct. 18th. It will be a rematch of Game 7 from the first-ever ECHL Finals. Wheeling will open their home schedule on Oct. 26 against the South Carolina Stingrays.
