Chicago Rush News Release
Chicago Rush head coach Mike Hohensee and assistant head coach Brian Schwartze can be seen on television this weekend - playing themselves in an episode of the NBC show "Sports Action Team," which airs on NBC 5 in Chicago Sunday night, September 16, at 11:45 p.m.
In Sunday's episode, Sports Action Team anchor Anthony Mak, played by Antoine McKay, is looking to resume his pro football playing career. Mak convinces Hohensee to give him a tryout with the Chicago Rush.
With the assistance of Rush quarterback Russ Michna and wide receivers Rob Mager and Woody Dantzler, Mak is put through a series of drills while Hohensee and Schwartze look on.
The episode was filmed at Allstate Arena in June, during the team's bye week prior to the start of the AFL playoffs.
"It was a fun afternoon," remembers Schwartze. "Coach Ho and I had a good time during the shooting and there definitely were a lot of laughs. However, for now I think I'll stick to coaching football and preparing for the 2008 season."
Produced by Towers Productions in Chicago, NBC's Sports Action Team, now in its second season, airs in Chicago each Sunday night at 11:45 p.m. on WMAQ-TV.
