Ask the CEO

August 28, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Question from 100+ people: "Would you please comment on other leagues targeting ABA teams? Would you please comment on the mean-spirited blogs on some websites?" (These questions are paraphrased and edited but capture what the fans have asked).

Answer: Thank you for so much interest. I have avoided these questions on Ask the CEO because these are very sensitive subjects. I will be on ABA All Access Radio this Saturday at 3pm EST. Robby Kendall mentioned during the interview that he was getting similar questions about both subjects. So, I answered both at length. If you get a chance to listen, I was very candid about my opinion of other leagues targeting ABA teams and about the mean-spirited blogs. Obviously, I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. I find it unethical, immoral, unsportsmanlike. But knowing the ownership and management of the of other leagues, and the identities of most of the mean-spirited bloggers, I am not surprised. For a complete answer, however, please be sure to listen to the show. It's pretty good. And Robby and I do talk about all of the great things happening this season in the ABA. If you have a question, please email conniejoenewman@aol.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
