PREVIOUS GAME RECAP: The GreenJackets (50-20, 32-25) finished up their series with the Charleston RiverDogs (37-33, 32-24) on Monday night with a 6-3 win. Starter Adam Cowart recorded the win and Juan Jean drove in three runs to back his starter as Augusta split the four game series with Charleston. Jean had what proved to be the game winning hit with a two out, two-run single in the fourth inning for a 5-0 lead. Two batters later Joey Dyche connected for an RBI single to give Augusta a 6-0 lead scoring Jean from third base. Osiris Matos worked two scoreless innings for his first save of the season allowing just one base runner on a walk while striking out three. The RiverDogs plated three runs in the sixth inning to break up the shutout and trim the lead in half

STARTING IT OFF: Adam Cowart worked 5.1 innings and allowed two runs on five hits while walking one and striking out one. Cowart was the third pitcher for Augusta to reach 13 wins.

SPLITING TOWN: The GreenJackets split their ninth series of the season with their win last night over Charleston. Augusta won the season series against the RiverDogs, 8-4.

BOUNCE BACK: A night after collecting a season low two hits in a 4-0 shutout by Charleston, Augusta came back last night by driving in six runs on 11 hits. It was the 47th time this season Augusta had collected 10 plus hits in a game.

THREE RBI: Juan Jean tied a season high mark with three RBIs in Monday night's win. Jean last drove in three runs on June 26, his third game with Augusta.

MULTI-HITTER: Brad Boyer had his first mult-hit game since joining the GreenJackets on August 14. Boyer went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base. Boyer had 18 multi-hit games with High-A San Jose and twice collected three hits.

MINOR LEAGUE LEADERS: Brett Pill is tied for third with 43 doubles this season. Emmanuel Burriss is ranked fourth with 64 stolen bases between Augusta and High-A San Jose. Right-hander Kevin Pucetas is ranked 10th with a 1.82 ERA. Pucetas and Ben Snyder tied for second with 14 wins and right-hander Adam Cowart is ranked eighth with 157.2 innings pitched.

CHASE FOR 92: In the 2006 season, Augusta was 80-45 after August 20 on its way to a 92-47 finish. This year the GreenJackets are 81-45. In 2006 Augusta won 12-of-14 to finish the regular season with 92 wins.

PLAYOFF BOUND: Augusta clinched the Southern Division First-Half Title on June 12 assuring themselves a spot in the post season come September.

Tonight's Probables

AUG: LHP Steven Calicutt (4-5, 4.11) vs. GRE: RHP Jimmy James (2-3, 5.73)

WHAT'S ON TAP: Left-hander Steven Calicutt makes the start tonight for Augusta in the opener of its three game series with the Drive. Calicutt is coming off one of his best outings of the season in which he tied a season high with six innings and allowed one unearned run on four hits in a win against Delmarva. Calicutt is making his 14th start of the season and in his previous 13 starts is 3- 4 with a 5.23 ERA this season. Calicutt has made three starts against the Drive and is 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA.

Right-hander Jimmy James makes his eighth start of the season for Greenville and is coming off back-to-back losses, both at home. In three starts at home this season, James is 0-2 with an 8.10 ERA. James two wins both came on the road this season and is making his first start against the GreenJackets this year. James started the season with the Red Sox short-season club, the Lowell Spinners, and went 2-0 with a 0.47 ERA in four starts.

Augusta vs Greenville

The GreenJackets and the Drive resume their season series with three games in Greenville, SC. The last time the two teams met Augusta swept Greenville in a three game series at Lake Olmstead Stadium. In 14 meetings this season, Augusta has lost just four times to the Drive and has outscored the Drive 76-50. The GreenJackets face the Drive the most this season with the two teams meeting 21 times. The two teams will play seven more times before the season is over with two more meetings coming at Lake Olmstead to finish up the GreenJackets final regular season home stand.
