Trailing by five in the eighth inning, the St. Joe Blacksnakes plated five runs to mount an impressive comeback, tying the score at nine. But that was as close to the lead as they could get, as the Saints scored a run in the bottom of the ninth via a game-winning single off the bat of SS Ryan Priddy. Priddy, who also homered in the game, finished 4-for-5. St. Paul closer Tony Pierce picked up his third win of the season by holding the Blacksnakes scoreless in a perfect ninth. Priddy finished the game a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

Pensacola 18, Shreveport 6

The Pensacola Pelicans got plenty of offense in support of their pitching staff as they tallied 18 runs on an unprecedented 28 hits, a league record, in an easy win against Shreveport. Eight Pelican batters recorded at least two hits, with seven of those eight recording three or more. Leading the way was SS Ricardo Cordova, who finished the game 5-for-6 with a double, triple, stolen base, four runs scored and two RBI. RF Marcos Rodriguez had a perfect 5-for-5 night and also had a double and a triple. He scored five times and drove in three to lead all hitters. Despite the offensive outburst, Shreveport CF Deacon Burns hit the only home run in the game. He finished 4-for-5 with two RBI in the losing effort.

Coastal Bend at Fort Worth (Postponed - Rain)

@ Fort Worth, TX.

The game scheduled between Coastal Bend and Fort Worth was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 20 at 5:05 PM when the Aviators return to Fort Worth. Both games will consist of seven innings.

Lincoln 12, El Paso 2

The Lincoln Saltdogs got plenty of offense and a great outing from starting pitcher Brian Campbell to cruise past El Paso and improve to 12-12 in the second half. Campbell allowed one run on seven hits and struck out three in seven innings of work. The Saltdogs offense got 12 runs on 18 hits, including six doubles, and were led by a great night from 2B Josh Patton. Patton finished the game 5-for-6 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI to lead all hitters. With the win, Campbell's record improves to 2-0 on the season.

Sioux City 10, Sioux Falls 5 (Top 9)
