Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - Kris Johnson had the best start of his professional career Monday night at Clear Channel Stadium. Sharp, efficient, and dominant, Johnson led Lancaster to a 9-1 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Johnson's ability to quickly retire Quakes hitters led to the fastest game at Clear Channel Stadium this season, as the JetHawks won the game in just two hours and 12 minutes.

The Quakes did not have a single base runner in the first three innings, as Johnson was perfect. The southpaw ended up pitching seven scoreless frames, scattering just four hits. He struck out a season-high seven and for the first time did not walk a batter as Johnson earned his sixth win.

Lancaster used the long ball to jump out to an early lead. Brad Correll hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give the JetHawk the only runs they would end up needing. Scott White also hit a two-run homer, while Salvador Paniagua and Tony Granadillo each launched solo shots. Granadillo, Correll, and Paniagua each had two hits in the win for Lancaster.

The JetHawks continue a six-game homestand Tuesday night against the Lake Elsinore Storm. The JetHawks starter will be T.J. Nall (0-1, 3.00) while the Storm go with Matt Buschmann (9-4, 3.01). The game starts at 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on radio at Magic 1340 AM, as well as on internet at www.JetHawks.com. The pre-game show begins at 6:45.

It is a Tumbleweed Tuesday at Clear Channel Stadium. Fans can purchase a reserved-level ticket for just $1.50 for Tuesday's game.

Great tickets for most JetHawks home games are available now. Contact the JetHawks box office by phone at (661) 726-5400 or online at www.JetHawks.com
